There will be participants from Sweden, Great Britain, Poland, Turkey and Latvia who willmeet during three occasions in the Gothenburg region, Sweden.
First occasion is 28th-30th of January 2009 when a feasibility meeting is planned with 2 youthworkers from each partner. The seminar will be held during 4th –8th of May 2009 with 50 participants total from the partner groups. The period in between the feasibility meeting and
the seminar, each partner group will work with different tasks preparing for the seminar.
The last occasion is the evaluation meeting 5th – 7th of October 2009 when 2 youth workers from each partner group meets and discuss the project results, future project ideas and
establishing an international network.
The project will have a website www.nationofyouth.se as its communication tool.
Feasibility visit 28th-30th of January 2009
The feasibility visit will be held in the Gothenburg region, Sweden, where potential partners
will meet and explore the possibility to develop a future seminar on youth influence and
participation. During three days partners from Sweden, Great Britain, Poland, Turkey and
Latvia will set the platform for the future project, including how to work locally on the issue
before the seminar and how to communicate and make further planning during this period.
Two youth workers from each partner will share their experiences of working with young
people and the solutions that they have formed. The aim is also to establish a strategy for how
each partner should implement the democracy project within larger youth groups and among
local civil servants and politicians.
The period between the feasibility visit and the seminar will focus on local preparations of the
workshops and activities that will take place during the seminar. The participants will
communicate with each other partners through the projects website: www.nationofyouth.se. This communication tool will also be used for future collaborations and be a platform for
experience exchange.
Seminar 4th –8th of May 2009
The seminar will be held in the Gothenburg region and will give youth, politicians and youth
workers the opportunity to meet and discuss youth influence and participation.
The seminar will give the opportunity to explore and analyse how international youth projects
can be used to work with young people within the democracy theme.
There will be 50 participants from Sweden, Great Britain, Poland, Turkey and Latvia, 6
youths, 2 youth workers and 2 politicians each. The participants will live together, get to
know each other, discuss and be creative for a whole week. There will be workshops that will
treat youth democracy, influence and participation rights from the perspective of personal
experiences of the participants and how these could be strengthened. There will also be room
for discussions on how a future collaboration through an international network, youth
exchanges and EVS could be established.
Evaluation meeting 5th – 7th of October 2009
After the democracy seminar, it is time for the Dissemination and Exploitation of results, The
3-day evaluation meeting in Gothenburg, Sweden (5 – 7 October 2009). The evaluation will
concern: The feasibility visit, the activities taking place before the seminar, the seminar itself
and the activities taking place as a result of the seminar. Every partner group will send two
youth workers who will present their experiences, success stories and aspects that should have
been done differently. During this meeting the results from the seminars evaluation
questionnaires will be presented and discussed.
Detailed discussions of implementation and follow-up will be conducted where each partner
will describe how youth’s democracy, influence and participation has changed since the
seminar. The participations will also discuss the final report that will be made after the
seminar.
During this meeting there will be discussions about new collaborated projects, the future of
the homepage project and the further structuring of an international network.
